Finance Manager - Technical and Tax

Elevation Recruitment Group are pleased to be recruiting for leading and award winning business in Sheffield, based in easy reach of the city centre, as they look to bring in a technically strong Accountant (Ideally first time mover from practice) intotheir finance team. The company is again, expanding the Finance team to provide an even better level of support to the business as they continue to grow. This is a fantastic opportunity for either a technically focused Financial Accountant from industry or a first time mover frompractice looking to make their mark with a dynamic organisation. This role will be based within the central technical finance team, working directly with the business leadership and development teams and external advisors and organisations. The role is a unique opportunity, with all round finance and corporation tax exposureand a strong technical aspect, but with a strategic and commercial focus advising and supporting the operational business.Main duties will include:*Be responsible for the end to end process for Tax Relief claims, including working with various teams within the business *Ensuring all technical and legal processes work effectively and that claims are delivered on time*Develop a deep understanding of relevant UK guidance around Tax claims, working with the firms external advisors, and use this knowledge to influence commercial contracts *Manage completion of relevant subsidiary company statutory accounts preparation, audits and tax returns, working closely with advisors and auditors *Lead the critical month-end accounting processes, analyse and report on KPIs and maintain & monitor utilisation data across projects*Provide critical accounting technical advice to the business and finance business partners on IFRS15 and contract accounting, helping support commercial decision making*Support on various aspects of accounting technical matters for the Group, for example IFRS16 lease accounting, accounting for acquisitions, preparation of Group and trading entity statutory accounts and supporting analysis*Be responsible for the preparation of information for external tax advisors in relation to corporation tax returns across the Group*Support the Group FC and Senior Finance Manager on Group corporation tax planning and cash flow forecastingThe successful candidate will require the following skills and experiences:-*ACA, ACCA, CIMA Qualified *Demonstrate strong technical background in practice or industry*Have additional UK tax qualifications or experience is preferred but not essential;*Be enthusiastic and a team player*Be well organised, and able to work autonomously and to strict deadlines*Have exceptional attention to detail*Show the ability to communicate effectively across all levels, with the confidence to question processes and recommend improvements*Have a strong desire to implement change and best practice*Demonstrate strong excel skills and the ability to analyse and manipulate This is a role for an ambitious individual who thrives on diversity while operating in a challenging and robust environment supporting financial and non-financial stakeholders across the business.
