Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Finance Business Partner and Reporting Manager to join an esteemed public sector organisation in Sheffield. The role requires accounting and finance expertise to drive the financial strategy, manage reportingand identify opportunities to improve HMG relationships and how these are managed.Client DetailsThe organisation is a prominent player in the public sector and is known for its commitment to supporting small businesses across the UK. With an employee count exceeding 1000, it is headquartered in Sheffield and operates across the country, deliveringsignificant impact through its key programmes.DescriptionMain responsibilities for the Finance Business Partner and Reporting Manager:

  • Develop effective working relationships with HMG colleagues and be recognised as the primary finance contact.
  • Good understanding of the different business programmes/teams and know how to best source and respond to information requests
Financial reporting
  • Review, analyse, and report month-end results for the organisation board and HMG Board meeting, working group HMG meeting and Quarterly Shareholder Meeting)
  • Chair monthly working group HMG meetings - determine appropriate agenda, provide variance analysis and commentary on Banks performance vs Budget, review and follow up on actions that arise.
  • Upload in-year reforecasts to DBT as required.
Policy compliance
  • Maintain and update the government accounting guidelines as applied to the business for new and existing products.
  • Support the business teams to comply with relevant public sector finance guidance.
  • Track implementation of relevant audit recommendations and identification of financial governance improvements.
Change management
  • Support policy colleagues by reviewing proposals and business cases to ensure that the financial implications for government are considered.
  • Identify ways to improve government relationships, policy compliance, and reporting processes.
ProfileThe successful Finance Business Partner and Reporting Manager will have:
  • An Accountancy qualification- ACCA/CIMA/ACA
  • Experience of producing accurate financial analysis and reports for stakeholders.
  • Experience of working in a FP&A or management accounting environment, especially in a public sector environment.
  • A background in finance business partnering.
  • Knowledge of HMG financial reporting and budgeting guidance.
  • Experience of Workday Adaptive Planning, Access Dimensions, and EPM finance systems.
  • Strong technical accounting skills.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and processes.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Proven track record of managing a finance team.
  • Strong analytical ability and strategic thinking
