Our client is one of the leading specialist subcontractors in the UK offering the complete design, supply and installation of integrated facade packages focusing on bespoke roofing and cladding solutions. They are looking to strengthen their Estimating team with an ambitious Estimator due to growth in their already extensive portfolio of work across the North of England. You will be an experienced Estimator with good product knowledge (Curtain Walling / Facades / Cladding / Glazing) and experience of construction site management.Reporting to the Contracts Director, the Estimator position requires excellent communication to liaise with Design, Commercial and Project-Delivery colleagues throughout the tender and construction process. The role is primarily office based with the Estimator working to prepare accurate time, resource, material, plant and equipment cost estimates and schedules that can be clearly and easily presented to Directors for their agreementEstimator - Role and Responsibilities - Quantity Surveyor / Curtain Walling / Facades / Cladding / Glazing / Quantity Surveying* Produce, and look to further improve upon already market leading Tender Packages* Scrutinise and understand the requirements of all tender documentation* Bring a flexible approach to the estimating process, consider the best solution to generate a successful bid* Build on existing, and establish new relationships with clients, designers, specifiers & suppliers* Liaise with Supply Chain when tendering to establish cost certainty for bought-in materials & services* Travel regularly, meet clients, attend & present pre-and-post contract meetings as necessary* Prepare Cash Flow Forecasts & Expenditure Programmes for all awarded projects* Assist colleagues with Project Delivery; monitor variances in schemes to maintain ProfitabilityEstimator - Skills and Abilities - Quantity Surveyor / Curtain Walling / Facades / Cladding / Glazing / Quantity Surveying* 5 Years Previous Estimating or Quantity Surveying Experience* Knowledge & understanding of general construction methods and principals* Well versed in whole building envelope construction and materials* Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, Project, Access, Word & Powerpoint)* Proficient in the use of AutoCad* Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or similar* Construction Site Experience* Familiarity with JCT & NEC forms of Contract* Ability to use Estimating Software, such as Logikal* Experience working on New Build, and Refurbishment construction schemesEstimator, Quantity Surveyor, Curtain Walling, Facades,Cladding, Glazing, Quantity SurveyingThis is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate.
