REED Engineering and Manufacturing are working with a leading Engineering Company with a world wide presenceEngineering SupervisorPurpose of the positionTo organise and control all plant maintenance activities at the site to ensure plant reliability, a safe place of work and an orderly and well-maintained environment. The scope of the objective covers, Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation disciplines.Principal responsibilitiesEnsure all plant on site is regularly maintained through management of resources (people & plant) by use of Planned Maintenance on SAPProvide defect maintenance service which will ensure that faulty plant and equipment will be rectified as quickly as possible.Maintain safe working practices, including strict control of Permit to Work system thereby ensuring that internal maintenance team and 3rd party contractors carry out work in a safe mannerControl of costs to the maintenance budgetMaximise productivity through supervision of the workforceProvide technical support into the resolution of plant problemsInvolvement in accident investigation and reporting to maximise knowledge of causes and therefore enhance ability to prevent recurrenceDepartmental safety responsibilities, ensuring actions are completed.Engage and control of contractors for mechanical, instrument, electrical and civil work without scope of internal maintenance team.Lead local SHEQ and Business Improvement Teams which feed into the Branch SHEQ Committee and focus on specific SHEQ or business issues.Strive for improvement in all operations at the site by:Maximising productivity of the maintenance functionProviding major input into the resolution of plant problemsInitiating and executing improvement projectsReducing of losses of gases and raw materials and use of energy on siteComplete management of small projects to the company standardsKey interfaces— Internally – Production, Customer Engineering Services, Distribution, SHEQ, HR, Finance and Internal Engineering depts— Externally – HSE, EA, MHRA, LRQA.Required critical behaviours— Visible Leadership— Communication and Collaboration— Influencing— Change Leadership— Personal Development— Decision Making and ExecutionRequired key skills (functional/technical)— Competent Influencing Skills— People and Change Management Skills and experience in a Trade Union environment— Working knowledge of the company standards, procedures, and specifications in operations and SHEQ— Working knowledge of the company works rules— Proven track record in managing and motivating personnel to develop their skills and encourage their participation.— Good written and verbal communicatorRequired qualifications/experience— City & Guilds equivalent time served in Mechanical, Electrical or Instrument disciplines (MECHANICALLY BIASED WOULD BE ADVANTAGEOUS)— IOSH safety management— Experience of man-management. Good communication skills— Knowledge of appropriate regulatory and legislative requirements to the role— Significant experience of industrial plant maintenance— Knowledge of relevant computer systems
