Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Support Technician to join a leading player in the Industrial / Manufacturing industry.   • Provide technical support to the Engineering & Manufacturing department
  • Implement routine maintenance procedures
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
  • Assist in the development of maintenance strategies
  • Collaborate with team members to improve operational efficiency

  • Document maintenance and repair work
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
ProfileThe Maintenance Support Technician is required to be an individual who is self-starting and self-motivated and is committed to the pursuit of objectives and business goals. They should also be able to demonstrate the belowEssential Skills & Experience Required
  • Hold a recognised Electrical / Process Control apprenticeship (HNC/ONC level or equivalent)
  • Previous Instrumentation / Control / Electrical experience of industrial systems
  • A Demonstratable ability to learn new skills.
  • Good level of problem-solving awareness.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and work with technical data.
  • A good understanding and knowledge of Health Safety Legislation with experience of adhering to SWPs, risk assessments, procedures, and permit systems.
  • Previous use of a variety of computerised maintenance management systems and other computerised tools which are regularly used in a busy Engineering function.
Desirable Knowledge & Experience
  • Experience of furnace combustion systems, air / gas ratio control, PID control for burner systems and thermocouples. A good working knowledge of current Health and Safety Legislation relating to combustion systems would also be advantageous.
  • Experience of a wide range of measurement and instrumentation methods and equipment.
  • Calibration of instrumentation to recognised standards such as NADCAP AMS2750, AS9100.
  • Experience of electronics including fault finding and repair to component level.
  • Experience of PC based systems and their associated communications.
  • Experience of CCTV and audio communications systems.
  • A knowledge of PLC and SCADA based systems predominantly related to fault finding would be advantageous.
  • Experience of written reporting for detailing activities, plant maintenance and reliability.
  • Experience of planning of work schedules and reporting of daily / weekly jobs.
  • Competence in the latest I.E.T. Wiring Regulations.
  • Experience of working in confined spaces and at heights would be advantageous.
  • Experience of environmental monitoring equipment and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Experience of Quality Management Systems e.g ISO9001
