This is a new and exciting opportunity for an Electrical Controls Engineeror systems integration engineer to join this growing team and play a pivotal role in spearheading the growth of this area within our business. The business operates within the industrial and mobile equipment industries, supporting OEMS across a wide rangeof sectors.DescriptionAs the new Electrical Controls Engineer, you will collaborate with a diverse range of customers including manufacturing, construction, material handling, and energy sectors. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing the integrationof complex systems within electric vehicles and industrial equipment.Your expertise will be crucial in product selection, system & software design, implementing, tuning, and troubleshooting, ensuring overall system functionality. Your passion for sustainable technologies and problem-solving will drive the successful integrationof our products, advancing the adoption of eco-friendly transportation and industrial solutions.The role of the Electrical Control engineer is to work closely with engineering teams to design electrical drive trains for their off-highway vehicles or machinery. You will be responsible for integrating multiple electrical and mechanical components manufacturedby our partners to create complete vehicle control systems.The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work across all disciplines of the business, acting as a liaison between the customer, sales team, and engineering team. They will play a crucial role in developing and delivering the strategic plan inline with the business objectives.   • Design and develop software needed to implement vehicle system designs.
  • Working closely with the customer to develop prototypes.
  • Write detailed specifications, architecture, and design documentation.
  • Configure and tune motor controllers.
  • Collaborate with external partners to stay at the forefront of electrification technologies to drive innovation in the field.
  • Provide the salespeople with technical support both on-site and in the field.
  • Mentor and train colleagues within the business.
  • Continuously review processes and products, identifying areas for improvement.
ProfileTo apply for the Electrical Controls Engineer, in Sheffield you will need to have In depth knowledge of power electronics, control systems, electrical and mechanical components, and communication protocols.Other Requirements
  • Degree in Electrical engineering, Mechanical engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience (2+ years) in designing and implementing electronic systems.
  • Experience in programming using C/C++.
  • Ability to configure and tune motor controllers an advantage.
  • Proficiency in CAD software an advantage but not essential.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Ability to travel domestic and overseas as and when required.
  • Customer focused and results orientated.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills with advanced written and verbal communication.
  • Self-motivated with proficient project management abilities.
