Location: SheffieldContract: PermanentHours: 37.5Salary: Up to £42,750 max per annum depending on experienceBenefits package:

THE ROLEWe are currently recruiting for an Economics Manager to join our existing Economics Team.The Economics Manager will produce economic analysis of small business finance markets and conduct assessment of the expected and actual impact of British Business Bank products.You will be responsible for delivering high-quality economic analysis of the supply of finance to smaller businesses, with a focus on using economic theory and market data to identify where market failures result in sub-optimal outcomes for entrepreneursand small businesses.You will take a leading role in producing publishable market analysis on small business finance topics, working with external contractors on the evaluation of the impact of British Business Bank activitiesYou will lead in the production of economic business cases, demonstrating the value for money of new product propositions in collaboration with business development, functional and business unit colleagues, as well as external partnersYou will contribute to maintaining the teams strong reputation within and outside the bank through contributing to developing presentations, building relationships and strengthening the teams work.You will have relevant work experience gained from a research consulting firm, research department of a financial services company/ asset manager, or from a research / analytical unit of a public sector organisationYou will have a firm understanding of microeconomics, including the market failures affecting small business financing, and an ability to apply this understanding to real issues.You will have a proven ability to produce high quality economic analysis including selecting suitable data sources and methods of analysis as well as quality assuring outputsYou will be able to communicate the implications and limitations of analysis clearly and convincingly to both technical and non-technical audiencesYou will have a sound understanding of the purpose of the British Business Bank and the environment it operates within, including demonstrated commercial awareness and knowledge of the public policy landscape, and have good software skills including useof Excel, PowerPoint and Word.The ability to use econometric, mapping and statistical packages is an advantage.To view the full job description please visit the Careers section at british Business BankABOUT US The British Business Bank is a unique and exciting institution.
