Job Description

DT TECHNICIAN / Apprentice trained Technician / CraftspersonSheffield based Secondary SchoolStart Date:ASAPEnd Date: Possibility temp to permContracted hours:32 hours per week (Mon to Thurs 8.00 to 3.00 and Fri 8.00 to 2.30)Milk Education are working in partnership with a local Sheffield Secondary School to source a DT TECHNICIAN to help the Design Technology department with preparing resources for curriculum, ordering resources, the candidate must be trained to use machinery. Initially, this will be to cover 2-3 months with a view to a permanent post if suitable for both parties.The role:The subject areas of Design and Technology involve pupils in the creative design andmanufacture of products, systems and artefacts in textiles materials, food, plastics, metals, timber,graphics and electronic products, dry media, painting, 3D print makingetc.The postholder must, therefore, possess a high level of organisational and practical /manufacturingskills in all or some of the materials mentioned above and be prepared to be adaptable in other areasof D&T such as CAD and CAM.The postholder must also be able to work with Departmental staff andpupils throughout the age range of 11 to 18 years.An apprentice trained technician or craftsperson,who holds appropriate technical and vocational qualifications would, therefore, be most suitable for this post.Skills required:
