Location: Sheffield or LondonContract: PermanentHours: Full TimeSalary: Up to £100,000 p/annum depending on experience and locationBenefits package: 30 days annual leave plus public holidays, pension with 15% employer contribution, flexible working, performance related bonus, cycle to work scheme, healthcare cash plan, life assurance, buy and sell holiday scheme and group income protection.THE ROLEAs Director Financial Crime Risk, you will be responsible for implementing and delivering a fraud risk strategy for the British Business Bank (BBB). This is a new position that will ensure a robust Financial Crime Framework is in place for our portfolio of Covid response schemes. Over time, it is expected the role will evolve to cover other BBB products. This would also broaden over time to include other Financial Crime risks.Reporting to the Managing Director Small Business Lending, you will lead a new team that will oversee the financial crime risk relating to our portfolio of Covid response schemes: Bounce Back Loans (BBLS), Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CBILS), Coronavirus Large Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CLBILS) and Future Fund. You will collaborate with government stakeholders in implementing on-going fraud management, ongoing fraud recovery activities and overseeing other financial crime risks. As Director Financial Crime Risk, you will provide clarity on scheme rules in accordance with Government Fraud Standards and work with delivery partners to guide process design and implementation.It will be important for to you to ensure your team has clear direction and operates within designated risk and compliance guidelines. You will monitor and report on scheme fraud performance, team outputs and escalate issues to the Managing Director Small Business Lending, Chief Commercial Officer BBB, Chief Risk Officer BBB and wider government when necessary.You will have significant experience in risk operations and compliance processes. A key aspect of this role will be to interpret government guidelines and so experience in a similar field within the financial services sector would be desirable. You will have integrity and sound judgement and have demonstrable experience of leading teams at pace, all whilst maintaining attention to detail and ensuring the highest standards or governance. It would be an advantage to have experience working with CIFAS or a similar fraud prevention body.You will be collaborative, celebrate difference and inspire a culture of inclusion and diversity of thought. You will think strategically to anticipate future trends and changing client needs and you will encourage an environment of continuous improvement.
