Job Description

Employer description:The Floow is a world leader in telematics data management. We support the motor insurance and automotive industries in the Americas, Europe and Asia with predictive analytics and digital end-user services that increase customer engagement and safety.Overview: We are looking for a Junior DevOps Engineer to maintain, upgrade and manage our cloud platform.Based in Sheffield, the role will require a successful candidate to work as a team member ofOperation Engineering team, helping with deployments, support customer support dept with client issues and work on internal projects.Salary:£16,000 - £20,000 per annum (dependant on experience).Duties:Your accountabilities:

  • Use good domain knowledge of Systems Administration with help of DevOps toolset toaccomplish the activities, identify and solve any problems as a part of BAU activities.
  • Display proficiency with the associated toolkits and company specific systems, tools andtechnologies to deliver support and contribute to the success of the team
  • Operate successfully at an individual level, with an openness to seek strategic andtechnical guidance from more senior members of the organisation as well as proactivelyseeking out external influences; considering how we can adapt these for our business and technology stack.
What we are looking for: Requirements of the job / Skills and qualities we are looking for:
  • Commercial experience within an IT hardware and Operating systems
  • AWS Cloud
  • Familiarity with Linux
  • Understanding of Networks L3/4
  • Knowledge of system security principles
  • Terraform
  • Source Version Control (e.g. Git, Mercurial, SVN)
  • Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
  • Team player
  • Proactiveness and willingness to learn
You must also be willing and able to:
  • Act with respect and professionalism at all times
  • Maintain your personal motivation and commitment to keep abreast of rapid technology developments and acquire knowledge and skills in line with the business requirements of the company
  • From time to time, you may also be required to undertake other tasks commensurate with the nature of the role
Entry requirements: The entry requirements for this programme are as follows:
  • Level 3 Software apprenticeship
  • OR A-Level in a STEM subject (in Technology and Maths fields only) and successful completion of our Aptitude Test
  • OR BTEC Diploma in IT and successful completion of our Aptitude Test
  • OR two years experience in a relevant role and successful completion of our Aptitude Test
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. Future prospects:92% of QA Apprentices secure permanent employment after finishing their apprenticeship.
