Job title: Data Governance DirectorLocation:SheffieldSalary: Up to £90,000 per annum, plus bonusResponsible for building and managing a set of data governance capabilities to ensure there are: • Clearly defined roles and responsibilities for data; • Policies and standards to control the quality, access and usage of data; and • Processes established for review (and escalation) of the data control environment. Main Duties:• Clearly defined roles and responsibilities for data o Set clear guidance for data related roles and responsibilities through the Data Ownership framework. o Mature data governance in the organisation including providing guidance, frameworks and training o Data domains and elements to have clearly defined ownership and accountability • Policies and standards to control the quality, access and usage of data o Identify, manage and control data risks. Proactively set risk appetite, monitor performance and uphold data integrity o Common data dictionaries to be instilled o Business rules to govern data usage and management to be defined, publicised and maintained o Responsible for defining policy standards, enforcing policy and measuring compliance • Processes established for review (and escalation) of the data control environment o Oversee Data Governance strategy and organisation o Develop bank-wide Data Governance processes o Establishing a central design authority for governing data. This will include creating the relevant steering and working groups with appropriate representation across the organisation (including the business areas).Knowledge and experience Essential • Extensive experience as a Data Governance Director/Manager • Involved in building the Data Governance capability in an organisation • Current working knowledge of industry best practice e.g. DAMA/EDM • Knowledge and experience working with current technologies supporting Data Governance Frameworks e.g. Collibra Desirable • Held a similar role in an Investment or Commercial Bank, Asset or Fund Manager • Managed teams that are a mixture of direct and indirect reportingQualifications:Educated to degree level or hold equivalent experience.
