Please ensure you have the right to live and work in the UK before applying.Job title: Chef / CookLocation: Mickley Hall Care Home, Valorum Care, Sheffield S17 4HERate Of Pay: £11.13 Per HourShift Patterns: 37.5 hours per week, Full Time, PermanentInformation about the Role:Working as a Chef / Cook at Mickley Hall your duties will include the following:

  • Creating, preparing, and cooking fresh, nutritious and varied meals for our residents including those who may require modified or special diets.
  • Ensuring preparation and presentation is always to a high standard
  • planning meals and consulting with residents and care staff to ensure that individual dietary needs and preferences are catered for
  • Some responsibility for ordering, checking in and controlling supplies
  • Working as part of a diverse staff team
  • Opportunities to influence the menu and the dining experience of those within our care (quarterly review of menus)
  • Ensuring that the dining experience is positive
  • Ensuring that the kitchen standards are maintained in line with the Safer Food Better Business requirements.
  • To prepare and present food to a high standard and quality.
  • To ensure that you work within an agreed budget
Information about the Service:Mickley Hall is a wheelchair accessible nursing home Totley near Sheffield. We support up to 39 individuals aged from 18 years old who require nursing care due to a physical disability or neurological condition.Our specialist, nursing staff team are proud to support people who have needs resulting from physical disabilities and neurological conditions including spinal cord injuries, acquired brain injuries, stroke, cerebral palsy, Huntington’s disease, motor neuronedisease, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, Parkinson’s disease, spina bifida & hydrocephalus.Necessary Experience or Qualifications to work as a Chef / Cook:
  • The right candidate will have a real passion for Cooking.
  • Relevant experience in a similar setting working as a Chef / Cook / Sous-chef / or Chef de partie.
  • Ability to work on shift/rota pattern, including some weekends.
  • Have the right to the work in the UK.
  • Excellent organisation skills.
  • Working knowledge of the Safe Food Better Business requirements.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
