Elevation Engineering & Manufacturing have an unique opportunity within a specialist global business who are looking to add a Contracts Metallurgist to their growing technical team in 2022.The successful candidate will work within an established and experienced technical team and play a pivotal role in providing technical expertise across Metallurgy, investigations, manufacturing routes and interfacing between key clients.The Contract Metallurgists duties and responsibilities include:- Acting as the interface between high profile key customers, the company sales team, and suppliers, on all material technical matters. This could be in the form of a new opportunity before an enquiry received, reviewing the quotation requirement once received or contract review when an order is received. - Reviewing manufacturing routes to ensure compliance with specification and purchase order requirements.- Supporting key investigations, producing reports, and drawing conclusions from work undertaken to find route cause or the way forward to resolve a technical issue.- Creating documentation such as test requirements sheets for mechanical, analytical, non-destructive, and metallurgical testing, and subcontract purchaseorder instructions, for example to heat treatment companies.- Work closely with technicians to carry out cross functional work and testing- Review and maintain testing procedures in line with international standardsI am keen to speak to Contract Metallurgists with the following:- A Metallurgy or Metal Science Degree or similar- Experience of melting, hot working, and testing- Preferably previous experience in a metallurgy, sales/commercial technical role or similar- Good problem-solving skills with a good understanding and experience of using methods such as 8D, 5 Whys, Six Sigma- Experience working cross functionally both with internal functions and key clientsElevation Engineering & Manufacturing is a specialist recruitment consultancy dealing with senior engineering, technical and operational positions in Yorkshire and the surrounding regions.
