Job Description

Sue Ross Recruitment are working with a government organisation who are responsible for the provision of local public transport, in the recruitment of a Commercial Analytics Manager.The role will be responsible for the management and development of commercial and concessionary products and services in support of current and emerging strategies, whilst managing the day-to-day concessionary fares and interface with the South Yorkshiremulti-operator ticketing scheme, including the development of third-party agencies.Through the delivery of the concessions and ticketing operational plan, you will ensure that statutory organisational obligations are met and payments to operators are made in a timely and compliant manner.You will be responsible for developing successful relationships with external partners to deliver improvements in the infrastructure and systems required to operate concessions and ticketing products and services in South Yorkshire.You will support the continuing development of solutions and services which target improvements in how customers interact with public transport, ensuring that they enable more efficient and effective travel across the region on public transport.Key responsibilities:

  • Pro actively manage the provision of operational agreements with public transport operators to ensure services are adequately provided, including developing and maintaining products to meet customer and stakeholder needs within the parameters of currentand future strategies.
  • Manage the development and maintenance of a market intelligence function to support the delivery of efficient, attractive products and services in order to meet both customer and stakeholder need and demand
  • Engage with external partners in relation to concessionary travel, product, and service discussions, in order to ensure cost effective and efficient delivery methods are adopted and implemented.
  • Ensure appropriate financial controls and measures are in place to correct apportionment and payment of concessionary budget to operators is achieved and transparent
  • Lead and develop the team responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the Concessionary & Ticketing Travel outputs and outcomes
  • Lead the business planning and on-going performance management processes for the Concessions and Ticketing team in order to effectively progress delivery of an efficient and attractive service offer
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal customers, partners, stakeholders, and other external organisations including exploring new ways of working more effectively in partnership
  • Manage the effective utilisation and regular reporting of the budget and aspects affected by the teams activities to secure delivery of the responsibilities outlined above.
  • Produce, maintain, and manage reports and reporting processes to inform internal and external stakeholders and customers
Key requirements:A relevant degree, qualification or equivalent level of professional attainmentExperience of managing complex multi-dimensional budgets with third partiesProficient in Microsoft OfficePrevious experience of working in a Local Government or transport-related businessExperience in the analysis of complex data sets in a practical environment Experience of product or service development from conception to implementationPrevious experience of working in a management role, including the management of staffExperience of managing a heavy and challenging workload.Unfortunately due to the number of applications we receive, we are unable to provide individual feedback to all applicants.
