CNC Operative Location: SheffieldDuration: Temporary to Permanent Shifts: Days 4x10hrs shifts: 06.00 - 16.00 Monday - ThursdayNights 4x10hr shifts: 20.00 - 06.00 - Monday night to Friday morningSalary: Days: £13.70Nights: £17.57The company:We are excited to offer an exceptional opportunity for a skilled Manual Machinist to become a valued member of our team based in Sheffield. Our client is at the forefront of serving industries like industrial gas turbines and aerospace, where precision-engineeredcomponents are of paramount importance. Through the use of horizontal and vertical centrifugal castings, our dedicated engineers produce a diverse range of near net shape products, including high nickel alloys.About the Role:As a Manual Machinist, you will play a vital role in machining centrifugally spun castings destined for the Aerospace and Power Generation sectors. These components are crafted from a variety of stainless alloys. While being a time-served machinist is preferred,its not essential. What matters most is your dedication to precision machining.Key Responsibilities:

  • Precision Machining: Machine large castings to precise specifications and drawings, ensuring dimensional accuracy.
  • Machine Versatility: Display adaptability by working with various machines, including manual lathes and vertical borers.
  • Production Efficiency: Ensure that production meets established timeframes and quality standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct visual inspections of machined castings and accurately mark up swarf drums for alloy identification.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively within a team, demonstrating self-motivation and minimal need for supervision.
  • Safety Commitment: Prioritize safety in all activities, adhering to company safety standards and procedures.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Machining Experience: Possess experience in machining within a manufacturing environment.
  • Blueprint Proficiency: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and translate them into dimensionally accurate components.
  • Precision Work: Skilled in working to tight tolerances and proficient in using precision measuring equipment.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous and attentive to detail.
  • Pressure Handling: Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Initiative and Teamwork: Able to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
  • Flexibility: Display a flexible attitude towards work, including overtime and shift work.
  • Safety and Quality Focus: Possess a strong understanding of health and safety, environmental issues, and quality regulations.
