Job Description

WINNER are currently supporting an engineering company in Sheffield with their recruitment of a CNC Miller. This will be a Monday – Thursday Night shift. (Friday can be worked as overtime)As aCNC Miller you will be responsible for manufacturing components to instructions, providing feedback to the engineering team and using different measurement instruments.You will be setting and operating milling multi axis machines at any one time and required to work towards tight tolerances.The duties of theCNC Miller will be:

  • Progress and manufacture in line with the production schedule
  • Ensure all production documentation adheres to the relevant quality standard
  • Setting and operating multi axis milling and turning CNC machines
  • Working to tight tolerances
  • Manufacturing different fabrications, castings and forgings
  • Using measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators and gauges
The idealCNC Miller will have:
  • Either apprentice trained or time served experience
  • A working knowledge of Heidenhain controls
  • Running CNC Elga mill machines with a table size of 12 metres.
  • Able to follow different programs.
  • Must have a keen eye and attention to detail
  • Eager to learn
  • Able to work 10 hours.
The hourly rate for the CNC Miller would be £16.40 per hour (1/3 shift allowance for 38hours) anything over 38 hours would be time and 1/2.Working hours would be 16:30pm – 02:30am (4 days a week 10 hours) Monday – Thursday (Friday can be worked as overtime).
