REED Engineering & Manufacturing are working with a leading Engineering & Manufacturing company,Chemical Analyst - Metals industryJob SummaryTo work as part of a team analysing the companys products and raw materials to ensure compliance with customer requirements and in accordance with external accredited bodies such as UKAS and NADCAP. Operating a range of analytical equipment within the companyslaboratories on a shift basis. Evaluating, entering and certification of data.Main Duties and Responsibilities Preparation of a wide variety of samples for different analytical techniques. Carry out a range of testing following Safety and Quality procedures on a range Super Alloys. Ensure testing equipment is maintained and calibrated prior to use. Ensure testing is carried out in accordance with the relevant procedure/specification. Evaluate the results against the standard/specification. Report discrepancies in results to technical supervision. Validate/ certify results on relevant media. Participate in quality audits as required. Order entry, general administration, responding to incoming customer queries. Work to provide results in a timely manner in accordance with planned dates. Work in a safe and efficient manner, participate in company safety and CI initiatives. Develop personal competence by internal and external training as required. Assist with equipment standardisation.Skills, Experience & Qualification Minimum Requirements: 5 GCSEs including Maths & English and Science (C or above) Metallurgy, Materials Science, Science or Chemistry based based qualification e.g. BTEC/ONC/HNC.Candidates without these qualifications but who can demonstrate relevant industrial knowledge and experience will be considered. Computer literate.Demonstrable Experience of: Relevant experience of optical emission spectroscopy, x-ray fluorescence Carbon, Sulphur N2 and O2 analysis by combustion, residual analysis by Atomic Absorption. Working in a UKAS/NADCAP laboratory-based environment CI initiatives/activities. Shift Working. Positive attitude to safety & quality.WORKING 4 ON 4 OFF
