Dont miss this opportunity for a Kitchen Manager / Chef to manage our newly refurbished caf/coffee bar based in Hillsborough, Sheffield.Kitchen Manager / Chef (No Evenings or Nights)Full time (5 days per week, 40 hours), Permanent PositionHillsborough, Sheffield S6£24,000 a year + Discounted Food and Free ParkingPlease Note: Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.After a complete refurbishment, the new Towsure caf is now looking for a Kitchen Manager / Chef who will be the driving force behind the whole kitchen operation. Our popular caf operates indoor seating for around 44 covers.Our ambition is to create amazing food to a high standard using top quality ingredients and presenting it well to our customers. We are looking for an individual with real passion for fresh food, with a vision that matches with that of Towsure, ensuringthat all food is sent out to our high standards and specification.Most importantly, you must be a proactive forward thinker whos open to sharing new ideas and contributing to the continued success of the business.As Chef, you will be responsible for the overall running of the caf, including both kitchen and all Front of House Duties. You will be assisted by one full time kitchen/counter assistant and additional front-of-house staff at weekends, bank holidays andduring the summer months when the caf is at its busiest.Responsibilities will include:

  • Creation of a vibrant seasonal menu
  • Planning pricing
  • Daily running of the kitchen, including preparing of meals and daily special creations
  • Purchasing and monitoring the inventory
  • Maintaining top food hygiene standards
  • Record keeping
  • Thorough cleaning of the kitchen area and kitchen equipment at the end of each working day
Working hours:Three days out of the week Mon-Fri 8:30am to 5:30pm and both weekend days (Sat/Sun) essential. About the Ideal Candidate:
  • Experience in a similar style venue
  • Relevant Food Hygiene Qualifications
  • Proven understanding of food safety compliance
  • A passion for delivering fresh quality food
  • Good understanding and proven ability of the business and management principles
  • Genuine desire to serve the needs of customers with a strong personal responsibility for achieving customer satisfaction
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
  • High integrity and honesty in all dealings
  • Ability to work under pressure
The post holder will also be managing a team and require the following Skills and Experience:
  • Leadership skills with ability to drive and develop a team
  • Ability to ensure sufficient team members at all times and within agreed budgets
  • Quality control of all supplies, food, drinks/beverages, kitchen hygiene and health and safety
  • Ability to meet your targets and those of the team as a whole
  • Ability to adhere to statutory obligations and agreed quality and best practice guidelines
  • Manage the quality preparation and training with barista style fresh coffee to customer satisfaction
  • Understand food preparation and cooking and the ingredients within dishes/ beverages and train your team to enable the team to confidently deal with customer queries.
  • Manage customers expectations and deal and resolve with all queries
Day to day responsibilities for the team to include:
  • Allocate workloads to team members
  • Supervise, manage and direct the overall performance of the team
  • Maintaining accurate records and accounts and reporting as required
  • Set an example for team members of commitment, work ethic and habits and personal character
