Job Description

Job Profile for Centre Lathe TurnerCentre Lathe Turner required for a well-established specialist supplier of hydraulic and Electric Submersible Pumps. The successful Candidate will be undertaking Setting and Operating Manual Lathes. It is envisioned that the successful candidatewill come from a background in Manual Machining with a strong level of turning experience, have completed a Mechanical apprenticeship and be based within a commutable distance of Sheffield.Centre Lathe Turner Position Overview

  • Set and operate Manual Lathes
  • Calculator dimensions and tolerances using Micrometres, Verniers, Callipers, etc.
  • Monitor Feed and speed of manufacturing machinery
  • Measuring and recording build tolerances and determine parts that require repair.
  • Self-inspecting your own work with hand tools
Centre Lathe Turner Position Requirements
  • Previous experience in the setting and operating of Manual Lathes
  • Able to read and interpret Mechanical drawings
  • Either Time served or City and Guilds qualified in Mechanical Engineering
  • Familiarity with Health and safety standards, any H&S qualifications would be a bonus
  • Based within a commutable distance of Sheffield
  • Full UK Driving licence
Centre Lathe Turner Position Remuneration
  • £10.50 - £12.42 per hour DOE
  • Monday - Thursday 8:00 16:30 Friday 8:00 - 15:30, 39 hour week
  • 28 days holiday inclusive of Bank holidays
  • Pension
