CK Technical are currently recruiting for a C++ Software Developer to join a 2D animation start-up on a full time, permanent basis. Candidates based in/ commutable from Sheffield will be considered, and remote workers may be considered dependent on experience level.The Company:Our client is a start-up born out of an established motion graphics and VFX studio with over 20 years experience working alongside the worlds biggest and best brands. The team has previously produced Oscar nominated software used daily by thousands in the animation and VFX industry. Its an exciting time to join the company, and they will consider candidates based in Sheffield, or alternatively experienced remote workers provided you are willing to travel on occasion to meet with the team. The company offers a salary of £25-40,000 pa depending on experience for the successful candidate who will have a keen interest and familiarity with the latest developments in the computer graphics industry, and is passionate about innovating and pushing the boundaries of whats possible in graphics and animation. Your work ethic will make you quality obsessed and you will have a passion for forging high end user experiences.The Role:Your main duties as a C++ Software Developer will be to:- Assist in the development and maintenance of the companys new and hugely exciting 2D Animation Software.- Work across the full product lifecycle, from initial fact finding through to design, development and beyond.- Refactor and rewrite existing code to improve quality, reliability and maintainability.- Proactively test new and existing functionality to ensure the highest levels of quality.- Help with the writing of end-user documentation.- Actively participate in team design discussions, sharing responsibilities and cultivate the adoption of best practices.- Respond to support requests from high value customers.Your Background:The successful candidate for this C++ Software Developer role will have the following essential skills and experience:·Proven fluency in C++.·Either of the following:-Familiarity with shader writing e.g.: OpenGL Shading Language (GLSL), or more general graphics programmingor -Knowledge of or experience in codecs/ transcoding for video or audio.·Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent experience.The following are not essential requirements, but would be strongly preferred: ·Previous experience developing innovative and cutting-edge software solutions.·Experience of working in film, game, or graphics software pipelines.·Knowledge of JavaScript/ React.·Knowledge of FFmpeg.
