Job Description

Role: Business Development ManagerSector: DoorsetsLocation: Sheffield / NationalSalary: £45,000 - £50,000 + bonus, company vehicle etc.Business Development Manager with proven Senior Sales / Account Management experience dealing with sub-contractors and joinery companies.Our client is a leading manufacturer of timber fire safety and security doorsets. To support growth, they are looking to recruit a highly motivated, experienced Business Development Manager to cover the Northern region.Working for a market leader you will receive a strong starting basic of up to £50,000, an exceptionally generous bonus structure of up to 75% of salary, car / car allowance, pension contributions and excellent opportunities for career progression.The role:The successful candidate will be responsible for maximising the revenues and EBITDA by delivering the sector sales strategy, ensuring that all opportunities for increasing loyalty, market share, share of wallet and margin are identified and maximised.You will be an effective communicator, have excellent attention to detail and be self-motivated and flexible. You will have proven merchant sector experience, strong sales ability and margin awareness.Due to the nature of the role, you will have a full driving licence and be prepared to travel as and when required.Main duties and key responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the design and delivery of the sector plan and the long-term strategy by providing market insight and intelligence including market trend analysis and customer behaviour
  • Work closely with the Commercial and Regional Directors to ensure all priority growth initiatives are realised in sector in line with Company requirements
  • Work closely with all key stakeholders promoting the companys vision, behaviours and aspirations at all times
  • Provide leadership to direct reports ensuring all activities are aligned and delivering the required result
  • Monitor and manage performance including the use of all appropriate processs behaviours and technology ie CRM
  • Meet assigned targets for profitable sales volumes and strategic objectives in assigned accounts
  • Proactively assess and clarify customer needs on an ongoing basis
  • Develop new and existing customer opportunities within target sector
  • Build productive and professional relationships with all key personnel in assigned accounts
  • Develop individual strategic key account customer plans
  • Liaising with accounts and branches to coordinate ongoing customers
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction ratings that meet company standards
  • Deliver required reporting on performance and plans as required
  • Keep self-up to date with changes in relevant regulations, legislation, market developments, products, and company news
  • Ability to plan and implement effective change to support rapidly shifting business demands
  • Problem solving operational and strategic issues

  • Ability to demonstrate value added solutions to the customer

The person:
  • 5+years experience in senior sales capacity / account management
  • Proven track record of sales success in either sector or national customers
  • Strong experience working in a matrix management structure
