Job Description

L1 Property invests residential blocks of apartments in cities outside of London (eg Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool, Leeds, Sheffield). This opportunity is for an experienced hire in the project management space with extensive knowledge in building construction,renovations, fire safety and overall building regulations.The role is based remotely and will require frequent travel to various sites around the country.Job responsibilities:

  • Project management from inception, planning, monitoring, completion
  • Ensure buildings are compliant with changing building regulations
  • Managing tendering/ procurement process
  • Undertake diagnosis of defects and repairs as required and prepare specifications for remedial works
  • Contribute to a regular programme of compliance testing to ensure the properties are compliant with statutory and regulatory provisions
  • Liaise and co-ordinate with block managers to ensure health and safety policies and procedures are adhered to, and improved, as required
  • Remain up to date with relevant regulatory changes, approved codes of practice and guidance documents
  • Lead the technical due diligence process for acquisitions and the onboarding of properties and subsequent remediations or renovations as required
  • Lead value add renovation and upgrade projects
  • Report regularly to internal team
Skills and experience required:
  • Technical building related degree or equivalent qualification (ie surveyor)
  • A member of a relevant professional body
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in project management - building refurbishments, major structural changes, and improvements
  • Experienced in co-ordinating multiple construction projects at the same time, small scale refurbishments to larger projects
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of current/ historical UK building regulations and fire safety regulations
  • Experience of contracts management and budget management
  • Experience in facilities management
  • Able to work unaided to complete tasks
  • Able to write reports and convey technical concepts to persons unfamiliar with the regulations
  • Well organised and able to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Demonstrate leadership in managing a wide range of diverse stakeholders, showing commercial awareness and a practical, solution focussed mindset
