Job Description

Fully work from home rolePosition Title: Virtual finance team member / bookkeeper / client manager (37.5 hours per week)Reporting To: Practice managersDate: Start ASAPSalary: Dependant on experience around £13.50 - £15 per hourPension: AvailableHoliday: 20 days (pro rata) + bank holidaysNature and Scope:As a Virtual finance team member / bookkeeper / client manager you will be responsible for taking care of the bookkeeping needs of multiple clients at once as delegated by the practice manager. We offer a Virtual Finance Office package to our clients. Withinthis package, You will take over an accounts email address for our clients and manage all accountancy related correspondence through it. This will form part of your role.Major Responsibilities:

  • Weekly payment runs
  • Monthly payment runs
  • Monthly CIS returns
  • Weekly debtors reports
  • Monthly bookkeeping
  • Quarterly VAT return preparation
  • Purchase and sales ledger tasks
  • Completion of management accounts by agreed date
  • All admin required for CIS
  • Completion of CIS deducted, and CIS suffered returns
  • Other administration duties as required by TWC and clients
  • Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients
  • Growing the business through referrals
  • Offer bespoke bookkeeping advise
  • Strive to ensure the business is streamlined and spot efficiencies where possible
  • Advise clients in relation to the VAT reverse charge
  • Support the team, and client managers, to continuously deliver the agreed level of service
Knowledge Requirements:Accounting topics - including, but not limited to:
  • Sound knowledge of the construction industry
  • Good knowledge of VAT rates for building trades and hospitality
  • Knowledge of HMRC guidelines
  • Excellent knowledge of Xero (we are a Xero only practice.)
Experience and Skills Required:
  • AAT Qualified Bookkeeper (desirable but will consider qualified by experience)
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, Xero, Hubdoc, Pixie and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with accuracy and an attention to detail
  • Experience of working remotely.
  • A ‘get stuff done’ attitude
  • Experience in the plumbing and heating industry would be desirable
Relationships:
  • Internal – Regular interaction with the client managers, company director, other team members and admin staff
  • External – regular interactions with Clients and HMRC
Job Requirements/Environment:
  • UK based
  • The bookkeeper will work from a home office with internet as well as office supplies (you will be provided with a laptop / desktop).
  • To ensure the confidentiality of our clients work, no printing of paperwork is needed. All work is to be done digitally. We recommend the use of a 2 nd monitor to allow for efficient completion of work.
  • We are a Tech Savvy company and use many different applications to save time and to streamline our processes. You will be required to learn how to use the different applications. Training will be provided if required.
  • You will be required to communicate with clients and staff via video conference (Zoom / Teams) as well as via telephone, WhatsApp, email and occasionally face to face.
  • We offer a flexible work environment. 37.5 hours per week will be required within core working hours (between 8am to 6pm) however work pattern is flexible. Adjusting hours to accommodate clients needs may be necessary.
  • This is a fast-paced environment, with tight deadlines. Therefore, the ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure is essential, as is a problem-solving, can-do attitude.
