Job Description

BI/DATA ANALYST - SQL - SHEFFIELD - £25,000-£45,000 - 12 MONTH FIXED TERMWe are working with a boutique BI, data engineering and data analytic consultancy based in Sheffield and are seeking to engage a data engineer / analyst on a 12-month fixed term contract.This is an ideal opportunity to gain valuable experience in a busy commercial environment. The role is 100% remote, but if/when Covid-19 allows, you can choose to work from offices in central Sheffield.You will need knowledge of BI / data engineering / warehousing / analysis and most importantly be keen to quickly develop new skills.They are a small company and are very relaxed and flexible. There will be plenty of autonomy and opportunities to design your own solutions to their clients data issues and requirements. You will also gain excellent experience that will help to grow your career in the direction you seek whilst being guided by an experienced lead.Essential

  • SQL language competency
  • Understanding of database systems
  • Familiarity with data warehousing techniques
  • Reporting and visualisation skills / knowledge
  • Statistical / data analysis skills / knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Can-do attitude
  • Desirable skills
  • Microsoft SQL Server (including SSIS / SSAS)
  • Microsoft Power BI
  • Knowledge of other RDBMS (MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, DB2 etc)
  • Kimball data warehousing
  • R Stats / Python for data analysis
  • Any C#/Java, NoSQL or Microsoft Azure knowledge would be a bonus.
