Job Description

BAND 2 AUDIO TYPISTSheffield, S10Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm or 9am - 5pm£8.92 - £9.09We are currently looking for a Band 2 Audio Typist for a busy hospital in Sheffield. As an Audio Typist you will be responsible for delivering an efficient typing service to the department.MAIN DUTIES:

  • The post holder will be expected to type clinical correspondence inclusive of letters to patients, clinic appointments, test results, referrals and discharge summaries.
  • Undertake accurate recording / inputting and amending of data within Trust information systems.
  • Communicate effectively with the use of tact and diplomacy, and seek to overcome barriers to effective communication - this may require the use of multiple communication methods, such as email, telephone, etc.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider departmental team to ensure a consistent and effective Patient First service.
  • Assist and support in the development and improvement of the service and in the implementation of Trust and Departmental policies and procedures.
  • Complete all mandatory training required by the Trust and actively participate in personal development.
  • Assist and support the development and training of new team members.
  • Undertake effective prioritisation of own workload and the coordination of activities / duties related to the role.
  • Adhere to all Trust and Departmental Policies and Procedures.
SKILLS:
  • Be able to work of own initiative but able to seek guidance when needed
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Typing qualification would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people
  • Ability to work towards deadlines and prioritise workload
