Job Description

Company DescriptionGreat Bear is a leading UK ambient business providing nationwide contract logistics and supply chain management services to a range of companies across a variety of sectors.We are recruiting for an Assistant Management Accountant on a full time, permanent basis at our Great Bear site in Sheffield.Shifts: Monday - Friday, 8:30am-5pmSalary: Up to £29,000 per annum DOEJob DescriptionAs the successful candidate you will contribute to the overall success of the site, you will report directly to the site Senior Management Accountant responsible for delivering Management Information to the General Manager, Operations team, Finance and theBoard. You will be responsible for the production of daily, weekly and monthly finance reporting to a review level.Key Responsibilities:

  • Based at our Sheffield depot, with some occasional travel to other locations, you will be responsible for the production of the weekly costings for a number of customer contracts across multiple sites.
  • Preparation of of the Management Accounts for multiple cost centres to review level.
  • Investigate and explain variances in the Management Accounts.
  • Reconciling and preparing monthly balance sheet accounts.
  • Complete annual budgets to review level.
  • Complete periodic re-forecasting to review level.
  • Invoice and Credit Control customers and update the Company cash forecast.
  • Support in the weekly reconciliation of labour deployment.
  • Review supplier invoices and liaise internally and with the supplier to resolve any queries.
  • Numerous ad-hoc reports and project tasks as required from the Senior Management Accountant and the Senior Finance Team based at Head Office.
QualificationsThe suitable candidate must:
  • Be AAT qualified or qualified through university degree
  • Have previous experience in a Finance role, to include P&Ls, Budgeting/forecasting, balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals, prepayments, depreciation and income matching
  • Display proven attention to detail and possess an analytical approach
  • Strong Excel skills and comfortable using MSWord and PowerBI
  • Ability to take on further responsibility and progress into a Management Accountant role

  • Comfortable working individually and as part of a team, sharing knowledge and improvement ideas for the benefit of the Company and its staff

  • Good communicator at all levels in the business
  • Experience of working in a similar industry is an advantage
