Job Description

We are a Sheffield based multidisciplinary environmental consultants seeking an enthusiastic and motivated assistant consultant. Candidate will have a relevant degree (i.e. Geography, Earth / Environmental Sciences, Engineering). We will pay for membershipto join a relevant professional body i.e. (CIWEM).Role supporting more senior staff delivering Flood Risk Assessments / Drainage Strategies for a range of projects across the sector with a focus on residential development.Hybrid 3-4 days in officeDay to day activities include:

  • Support the production of technical reports.
  • Undertake site walkovers and survey works.
  • Prepare consultations with the water regulators.
  • Liaise with client / attend meetings under supervision of senior staff.
  • Manage time and budgets under guidance from line manager.
Skills and Experience:
  • Relevant degree and desire to gain accreditation with a professional body through experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (i.e. report writing).
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to listen, follow instruction, review technical work and process. Keen to learn, retain and apply technical information, review own work, and be confident to ask for support when needed.
  • Ability to review and familiarise yourself with flood risk/drainage policy and guidance documents.
  • Good IT Skills and ability to learn new software.
Desirable:
  • Familiar with GIS/CAD software.
