We have an exciting new role working with a Sheffield based business, who are currently looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their team on a full -time basis.The successful candidate will be joining a supportive, well-functioning team, providing management & financial accounts support to the Finance Director, and be responsible for maintaining the financial records whilst contributing to other key areas of the business. Duties of the role:- Company software (projects & finance as relevant) transaction postings across Group companies as required.- Updating financial and projects reports as required.- Responsibility for ensuring timely Customer payments and account reconciliations.- Aged Creditor weekly payment compilations ensuring payments due are valid and correctly taxed.- Validating payroll transactions.- Assisting with Budget compilation annually.- HMRC liabilities upload and verification with appropriate software ensuring payments due meet government legislation.- Preparing and balancing monthly Accruals & Pre-Payments.- Responsibility for managing set month end tasks and meeting each month end- Updating cashflow forecast to ensure a minimum 6-month visible forecast: income and costs.- Reconciling trial balance; Control account balances / Debtors & Creditors balances.- Monthly review of Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet information, analysing queries as relevant- Updating financial and projects reports as required and assisting with ensuring calculations provided are accurate- Resolving errors in financial reports and assisting with correcting faulty reporting methods- Compilation of VAT return & CIS statements- Responsibility for reconciling Customer financial information with internal teams as relevant for validity with the Customer; retentions / Sales WIP / invoices due.You must be:- Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.- Able to work in a fast pace environment on own initiative and take ownership of role- AAT qualified or equivalent.- Able to spot opportunities to improve and develop processes and reportingBenefits:-Hybrid Working-Flexi working -25 days annual leave + bank holidays-Study Support-perkbox employee incentives-Westfield Health scheme-Workplace pension-Free parkingIf this role sounds of interest, or you would like any further information, please dont hesitate to get in touch!To apply please send your CV, quoting our reference and specifying which website you saw this position advertised on.
