New and excellent Career opportunity have arisen for highly motivated and suitably experienced nurses, to develop their skills and knowledge and work alongside multi-disciplinary staff to enhance the patient experience across our mental health services. Benefit’s are improved mental and physical health provision for service users, offering a more consistent approach to service provision. The further development of these posts will also offer a structured career progression for nursing staff.The post holder will be accountable to the Head of Nursing and work alongside a range of MDT staff to develop the skills and knowledge necessary for assessing and planning care, prescribing ordering diagnostics and skills development.Youwill have leadership responsibilities, working closely with the leadership team where they are based. Key performance indicators will be aligned to each post, ensuring quality of care is delivered in a safe, supportive manner.Applicants must be able to work across the care network’s, with initial focus being in either an inpatient setting or a community team. You may be expected to work out of hours and at weekends when required.The post holder will be expected to develop both academically to Masters level and clinically, through continuous assessment and competencies. The post holders will enrol on the Advance Clinical Practice Course at Sheffield Hallam University. The post holder will train as a Non Medical Prescriber and qualify in Advanced Physical Assessment and Consultation Skills. This will be fully funded, including release time.Applicants must be able to demonstrate and utilise a range of teaching and assessing skills in partnership with MDT staff through regular assessments and development of personal plans.The post holder will also be expected to take part in clinical audit.Applicant smust have extensive post registration experience of at least 3 years, of which 18 months should be in a leadership position. They must have evidence of degree level study, and hold a teaching and assessing qualification.The post is open to any registered nurses (Mental Health /Learning Disability)It is anticipated that this post may attract applications from existing Band 7 Nurses.In this instance, a successful applicant who is already a Band 7 Nurse will continue to be paid at that level throughout the training.Please note you will be applying for the position of Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner.Location:Post 1; Endcliffe Ward, The Longley Centre,Sheffield.
