Job Description

2nd Line Support, Network Service Engineer required for a growing, ethically sound business North Sheffield area. This is a permanent opportunity which will offer you long term development and career prospects to further develop your skill set. You are required to have 2-3 years experience and knowledge of Microsoft Stack Located just off the motorway junction the role is easily accessible for people living in Sheffield, Barnsley, Leeds, Wakefield, Doncaster and surrounding areas.THE JOB:

  • Administration and maintenance of the network and server infrastructure estate
  • Ensuring the availability and performance management of the systems and service delivered by our on-premise, cloud and 3rd party network services.
  • Maintenance of all IT operational environments including backup and DR services
  • Resolving 2nd line support and technical issues and provide 1st line support when required within agreed SLAs
  • 2nd line logging, assessment & prioritisation of issues/incidents and problems on the IT Service Desk
  • Research and identify solutions to software and hardware requirements for business operations
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including network configuration and architecture
  • Conduct detailed root cause analysis of technical problems and if necessary, refer to third party support vendors.
  • Diagnose and escalate issues to appropriate internal teams (Business Applications)
  • Document technical knowledge in the form of notes and manuals and maintain a knowledge base
  • Provide prompt and accurate feedback to users
  • Prepare accurate and timely support / uptime reports
  • THE PERSON:
  • Technical experience gained in a fast-paced industry, preferably retail environments
  • In-depth knowledge of VMWare and Microsoft client / server environments including failover clustering, data replication, SAN, RDP, SQL, Backup and DR strategies
  • Network infrastructure design, implementation and support knowledge of Cisco / Meraki technologies
  • Experience of MPLS / SDWAN network design and architecture
  • Strong experience and knowledge across the Microsoft Infrastructure Technology Stack, including SCCM, Exchange 2010, 2016 and Online, Active Directory etc.
  • Strong organisation and documentation skills
  • Managing and ensuring best practice delivery of performance, security, monitoring, maintenance and uptime availability of the business application systems
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to in a fast paced environment
