Job Role: Electrical Engineering ManagerJob Type: PermanentIndustry: Semiconductors/ElectronicSalary: NegotiableLocation: Somerset/BristolProfileOur client is a world leading manufacturer of complex special purpose machinery used across the globe. Reporting the Head of Engineering the Electrical Engineering Manager shall be responsible for leading and developing a team of engineering professionals.Duties-Manage the delivery of engineering tasks; This includes CES activity, order processing through the engineering team, operational and field support, faults on commissioning, warranty issues, FRNs, DPs, PVC release content, CI and CDVA projects, design reviews,product documentation and obsolescence.-Scope and specify the developments and projects needed to meet the strategic goals for your platform.-Operate a continuous improvement culture on behalf of the platform, including embedding Design for Excellence (DfX) principles throughout; improving the platform performance and yield better value for our engineering effort spend.-Support the other platform design teams as necessary through collaboration with the Managers and Lead Hardware Engineers.-Carry out line management for direct reports, including PDR reviews in accordance with company policies. Individual performance of team members should be regularly reviewed with the other Lead Engineers to ensure parity across the team.-Check the output of the team to ensure it is in a standard format, complies with company quality, as well as other regulatory and compliance standards.-Work closely and support the other Lead Engineers to ensure that a consistent engineering service is provided by the team to the rest of the organisation.-Produce KPIs for your team and present them to engineering management monthly.-Lead and drive forward the continuous improvement of the engineering function through support of the systems engineering team.
