Job Description

Ensure the successful development of the firm in line with the business plan.This role involves but is not limited to:

  • Assisting a senior solicitor/partner with their caseload whilst also handling your own caseload.
  • Working on files as appropriate, including drafting letters, collating evidence, preparing cost letters and liaising with experts and clients.
  • Arranging and attending conferences with counsel and experts
  • Arranging and attending client meetings
  • Drafting liability and quantum witness statements.
  • Drafting instructions to experts and Counsel.
  • Drafting and preparing Schedules of Loss and Damage.
  • Drafting various Court documents
  • Conduct matters on behalf of Clients in line with their instructions.
  • Management of support services, including supervision of paralegals, SQEs and Legal Secretaries.
  • Financial control with particular regard to cashflow control through collection of monies on account and billing procedures.
  • Understanding complex negligence claims and legal requirements.
  • Providing regular updates to Client’s on matters.
  • Dealing with any queries raised by Clients on particular matters.
  • Submitting required documents to court prior to trial.
  • Collating medical and financial information with accurate attention to detail.
  • Opening and closing files
  • Undertaking training as and when required and to attend quarterly department meetings in London.
  • To assist with marketing of the department.
Requirements:
  • Ability to use case management systems
  • Qualified Solicitor
  • High standard of computer literacy
  • Must be adaptable and flexible
  • Must have good time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work amidst frequent interruptions whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
