Job Description

An opportunity exists for a qualified Planner or a Planner en-route to qualification within the South East Planning team based in Sevenoaks and/or Guildford. The successful candidate will be part of a team of sixteen working closely with, and reportingto, an Associate Director/Director. The team undertakes a wide range of work promoting strategic land, housebuilder proposals, landowner promotions, appeals, planning appraisals, regeneration and rural work.The South East team sits within the Planning Division and sits over three main offices, Guildford, Sevenoaks and Brighton, covering projects typically within Kent, Sussex and Surrey.Team OverviewSavills culture is one of trust and respect, teamwork and collaboration.   • Providing planning consultancy advice to colleagues and clients
  • Reporting to clients and senior colleagues and keeping in regular contact
  • Attend and report to clients at regular project meetings
  • Be capable of striving to win some further work for the department (though the primary role is to process existing and new planning work)
  • Be capable of dealing with instructions and clients alone after an introductory period
  • Strive to become a single point of contact for clients
  • Production of reports to support planning applications and appeals
  • Production of planning appraisals
  • Support Team and colleagues with CPD
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
  • Strong verbal, numerical and report writing skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong analytical and evaluation skills
  • A team player with leadership potential
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
  • MRICS / MRTPI qualified (or en-route to qualification, with an accredited Diploma / Masters)
  • Practical understanding of Property
  • Experience in a similar role (preferably 2-5 years planning experience in either public or private sector)
  • Strategic approach to problem solving
  • Full driving license and access to your own car for day to day business requirements
