Job Description

Youngstock Technician - South Full-time, Remote - Covering Southern Region.Here at ForFarmers, we have a dedicated Youngstock team across the UK, we pride ourselves in our knowledge of youngstock and our fantastic products to suit all farmer’s needs.We are looking to expand our offering and as such, are looking for a Youngstock Technician who will be involved in day to day on farm technician duties such as: weighing calves and monitoring the growth rates and performance on farm.It is important that as well as offering great products we also offer the best industry advice therefore bespoke feed plans and colostrum protocols can be advised for individual farms.With the best products and advice on farms we will help UK farmers become more sustainable with healthier livestock and greater returnsThis successful candidate must be located in the South of the UK as the role will involve regional travel. The actual role is remote but with the expectation of visiting sites/farms across the South.Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Supporting account managers with the growth of their youngstock portfolio and to gain new youngstock business
  • Raise the profile of the Forfarmers youngstock offering and Target 24 programme
  • Running on farm trials against competitors and testing new concepts
  • Providing a weighing service to key prospects and valued customers to gain new business and retain valued customers
  • Create bespoke plans for feeding colostrum and milk replacer for individual farms and delivering the concept to the farmers
  • To grow the Youngstock market share in the UK
  • Measuring successful controlled trials on farm throughout the year
  • Using computer systems to upload data and communicate the results with the farmer
    • Your CV shows:
  • Full UK Driving Licence (Regional travel to farms). The successful candidate will receive company car or car allowance.
