Job Description

The Quality Engineer will work in an industrial recycling environment in Selby. They will be expected to examine waste quality throughout the recycling process whilst making any improvements to the quality checks.Client DetailsThe client is a successful industrial recycling plant based in Selby.DescriptionThe Quality Engineer will be expected to:

  • Deliver on assigned projects and work programmes, ensuring agreed outcomes and success criteria are met or exceeded
  • Actively manage and continually improve the QMS
  • Support operational teams to ensure ISO 9001 and other accreditations are maintained, and that non-conformances are addressed with actions completed and closed-off
  • Conduct in-process inspections and testing of materials and products to ensure compliance with specifications and requirements
  • Benchmarking quality
  • Examining waste quality
  • Audit compliance with defined operational quality management regimes and requirements
  • Proactively work with site operational team to facilitate continual improvement in product quality, process compliance, performance, and quality-focused behaviour
  • Driving continuous Quality performance improvement by working cooperatively and collaboratively with operational teams by providing high-quality specialist management, guidance, support, technical and analytical services
  • Acting as the Lead on the continual development of effective and appropriate quality management frameworks, systems and procedures
ProfileThe successful Quality Engineer will have:
  • Sound knowledge of quality management within ISO structures and requirements (ISO9001 and others)
  • Experience in an industrial manufacturing and production environment.
  • A logical, structured, analytical and investigative approach to problem solving and root cause analysis
  • Significant experience in the use and application of investigative/analytical tools such as 8D, storyboard and BOS, when investigating quality faults and complaints
  • Sound auditing skills
  • Well-developed numerical, analytical and statistical skills to gain best insight from collected data
  • Knowledge of effective quality management principles and approaches
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills at all levels; able to influence and persuade colleagues, improving commitment and buy-in
  • A pragmatic approach to quality management, with the ability to find practical solutions to complex problems
  • An organised and structured approach to quality management, data management and document control
  • Ability to manage multiple workloads effectively, to prioritise activities and meet deadlines
  • Good report writing skills; ability to present complex information clearly and logically
