Lead EngineerCivil Engineering As the Civils Lead Engineer, youll be the Drax Power Station Civil subject matter expert. Youll be accountable for technical excellence, with the expertise to make key engineering decisions. You will have the additional responsibility of leading Drax employeesand large contractor resource, whilst providing technical and specialist guidance to the Power Station.About the RoleAs a Lead Engineer, you must ensure the highest level of safety standards and operational compliance are always applied. A Lead Engineer will preserve the Stations assets, minimise costs and above all deliver the Engineering asset strategy that supports thelong term commercial and operation of the plant. Accountable for delivering compliance against legislative, statutory, corporate and site policy and procedures whilst providing engineering expertise and ownership for contract management and the delivery ofassigned budgets and support the Engineers and Technical Leads in their role of supporting a team of Technicians in line with the engineering strategy to deliver the needs of DPS.Youll be supporting the Team Manager to deliver the Business Plan, providing a key contribution to the development of strategies to maintain and improve availability and efficiency of plant.Drawing upon your experience to provide leadership and guidance to the team/contractors to meet plant area and individual performance expectations, including all aspects of people management where required.This will certainly be a role where you will work collaboratively with other plant areas, and external bodies including suppliers, contractors, and business functions to ensure the reliability and efficiency of Drax Power Station is maintained.As the Lead Engineer you will be responsible for Contract management responsibilities including negotiating and tendering of contracts specification of work, risk assessment, and supervision of contractor work including setting to work when acting as ContractOwner/User.About You This role requires significant Civil Engineering experience in managing power station civil assets. Therefore, you must have relevant Engineering qualifications such as an engineering degree and ideally be at chartered status or working towards your chartership.A strong understanding of design using all major construction materials to the British standards and European codes is essential.
