IT Trainer6 months (Potential for extension)Selby - 1 day every couple of weeksMy high-profile utilities client is currently recruiting for a IT Trainer to work on an initial 6-month contract. They want somebody who is able to manage stakeholders effectively and has a good understanding of the learning life cycle.Purpose:Reporting to the IT Training Manager and responsible for supporting IT Training for the Generation business. The Training Analyst supports the design and development of engaging, high quality, learning material in a blended format including e-learning and Instructorled training, based around any Generation IT products. The delivery will include Train the Trainer, Super User and End User training. The Training Analyst will deliver and follow up on training requirements gained from project delivery, application supportor any other requests that arise. The role is part of the broad Applications team of developers, testers and applications support.Dimensions: Work with all business areas. Work with a mixed IT team of developers, testers, PMs, BAs, application support and architects to support a base of 900+ users.Key Accountabilities: Provide training support to the IT Training Manager. With supervision from the IT Training Manager, design and develop high quality training material to include e-learning and Instructor led training solutions, across any required applications. Working with the People Development team to ensure that all training materials are consistent, employer branded and accessible through our centralised Learning Management System (One Drax) to ensure a seamless user experience. Working with the People Development team, supporting Super Users and learners using learning technologies to deliver skills. Support with the development of training material prototypes and presentations where required. Support with quality assurance and quality control reviews, including liaising with the Development/Test/Application Support Team to ensure products meet end-user requirements. Support with evaluating training and ensuring the learning environment and resources support learner needs. Support to prepare the learning environment and resources, including setting up of training data where appropriate. Other activities that arise within IT training under the supervision of the IT Training Manager. Deputise for the IT Training Manager as and when required.Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required: Some experience of IT Training, course development and in delivering training sessions in both a formal (e.g. a classroom) or virtual media (e.g. Microsoft Teams). A minimum of GCSE or equivalent English Language. Good writing and editing skills to ensure engaging, high quality and consistent style across all functions of the business Good knowledge of appropriate training development media tools and Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft 365 Applications. Analytical skills and the ability to assimilate technical information. Ability to be creative whilst working to strict deadlines. Ability to work effectively by using their initiative and as part of a team. Ability to understand new technologies and learn or utilise technical development tools. Good proof-reading skills. Good communication (verbal and written), time management skills, fast learner, self- motivated, and comfortable taking initiative.Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required: Experience in creative design, producing innovative and engaging learning content. Experience of authoring tools, e.g. Articulate 360, Captivate, Camtasia/ SnagIT, Videoscribe Knowledge of business functions within a Utilities industry.Special Features: Limited travel may be required but is not the norm. Working from home - hybrid/flexible working available (sometimes you will be required on site at Drax Power Station Working hours may need to be flexible to support delivery of various projects and deliverables.Measures of Success: Requirements are captured and managed accurately, and effectively, to time and budget resulting in strong training delivery. High quality deliverables that provide an engaging user experience delivered to meet enduring client needs, supporting the embedding of learning throughout operational roll out Training outcomes are delivered to the agreed KPIs with positive feedback from training evaluation.
