Compliance Analyst Salary: £45,000Location: Selby The Compliance Analyst will aid the development and maintenance of a surveillance framework that meets the business regulatory obligations to monitor trading activities. The individual will be liaising with stakeholders across the business, including Trading,Generation, Treasury, IT and support functions. THE ROLE: Team lead for all surveillance activities relating to the identification, monitoring and investigation of suspicious trading activities Identify and lead changes to the surveillance process and automated alerting to drive effectiveness and efficiencies.Perform periodic reviews on the effectiveness of market abuse patterns and market abuse risk assessment Support with the delivery of physical and financial regulatory compliance across the groupPerform trade, dispatch and electronic communications surveillance monitoring and escalate issues to management Conduct independent monitoring, reviews and investigations into compliance matters as required Support collating information and responding to Requests For Information Provide Compliance guidance to colleaguesContinually manage and improve policies, processes, systems and capabilities in line with the latest regulationsContinually seek to foster and build relationships with key business partners Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholdersSupport ad hoc business and projects, as necessaryTHE CANDIDATE:Educated to degree level An understanding of market abuse obligations Experience using a Trade Surveillance system Expertise in the Scila system is highly desirable, however experience in any one of NICE Actimize, Nasdaq-Smart, B-Next and CubeWatch systems is equally desirablePrior experience working with commercial teams, building trust, confidence and respect whilst challenging the status quoNegotiating, influencing and communicating effectively with stakeholders of all levelsInvolvement in investigations, including large volumes of data gathering, complex analysis, interviewing personnel and developing/presenting conclusions and recommendations to managementAbility to cut through complexity to identify principal impacts and practical options Ability to work collaboratively in a team environmentTHE CONSULTANCY:Edwards & Pearce acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
