Job Description

Transport PlannerOne of the UKs leading specialist logistics providers are looking to recruit a Transport Planner to join their creative and innovative team. The business operates in a range of industries from automotive to hazardous liquids.In this role you will be working with a fleet of modern vehicles all equipped with high levels of technology. This will give you the best possible equipment to perform at the highest level and give you the chance to work with advanced systems.The business will pay up to £30k per annum for the right person. They offer a range of standard benefits plus they will also pay for you to gain a CPC within the first 18 -24 months.Mon - Friday - 08.30am-5pmPlease note the site will be moving from Crewe to a purpose-built facility in Middlewich in February.Job Duties as their Transport Planner:

  • Plan resources to meet work demands and minimum key performance indicators.
  • Assign and maximise the utilisation of drivers and vehicles daily.
  • Keep up to date status of the jobs and communicate updates as necessary.
  • Use the in house system to contact drivers with any updates.
  • Deal / resolve any issues from drivers and customers.
  • Ensure the operation achieves all necessary Health and Safety and legal requirements in relation to the Companies O Licence
  • You will strive to achieve and continually identify ways of improving and maximising driver and vehicle performance in line with both customer and company SLA and KPIs.
To be successful in this role we would like to talk to you:
  • If you have worked as a transport planner in a fast-paced operation
  • CPC is preferred however training for this will be provided in your first 18 months
  • Delivered exceptional customer service to external and internal customers
  • A Transport planner with knowledge and experience with route planning systems.
  • Managing own time, planning and performance on a day-to-day basis
