Job Description

Sales EngineerCrewe £25,000 - £35,000About the CompanyMy client manufactures vacuum, centrifugal, side channel, regenerative turbine pumps. My client is looking for a Pump Sales Engineer, to select the most efficient pump’s based on customer requirements. The Pump Sales Engineer role is office based. The Pump Sales Engineer will select the right pump for customer’s requirements, quoting and sourcing parts. The Pump Sales Engineer must have familiarity with vacuum, centrifugal, side channel, regenerative turbine pumps. The Pump Sales Engineer must have sales experience and pump knowledge. There is a training programme for the successful candidate.Responsibilities of the Sales Engineer

  • Produce sales quotations, including correct pump selection and design according to customers specific requirements whilst ensuring profitability
  • Identify various pump processes and applications
  • Liaise with Area Sales Managers in following up quotes and seeking new markets
  • Provide technical support, and solve technical queries on the pump range
  • Management of sales process from selection, quote, order and after sales
  • Develop and manage strong business relationships via email and telephone call
  • Liaise with suppliers and procure materials on a competitive price basis
    • Requirements of the Sales Engineer
  • Engineering Degree
  • Good technical understanding of pumps and pumping systems (e.g. vacuum, centrifugal, side channel etc.
  • Sales expierence
  • Familiarity with pump applications, knowledge of manufacturing processes, especially relating to thermal plastics (e.g. extrusion process)
  • Knowledge of materials and their properties (mainly metals and thermal plastics)
  • Knowledge of basic fluid dynamic principles
  • Knowledge of the working principle of a centrifugal and liquid ring vacuum pumps
  • Good telephone and interpersonal skills
  • Customer focused, commercially aware and results driven
  • Team player with strong sales skills focus
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs (Excel) and capable of using other IT systems/processes
