Job Description

Electronics Technician | Cheshire | 37.5 hours per week| £20,000 - £30,000Guardian Controls is an electronics company specialising in the design and manufacture of energy efficient controls to the refrigeration industry in the UK, Europe and internationally.We are growing and ambitious in our plans for the future and are looking to recruit an Electronics Technician. You will work Monday to Friday - 9:00am to 5:00pmThe role requires accuracy, good organisation skills, a positive attitude and the ability to use own initiative.There will be some flexibility in the number of hours worked and working days for the right candidate. The probationary period is 4 months, once completed this will be a permanent position.You Should Ideally Be Capable Of

  • Inspecting PCBs.
  • Soldering.
  • Through hole and surface mount component assembly.
  • Previous electronics experience.
  • Some programming experience.
  • Building small prototype circuits (Breadboard).
  • Ability to read a datasheet.
  • Ability to read a wiring diagram.
  • PCB design.
  • Incoming visual inspection of packaging and components.
  • Skilled with use of manual tools for mechanical assembly and modification.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
Role Responsibilities
  • Assembly of prototypes and fault finding/repair of faulty units.
  • Work with development engineers to implement required design modification.
  • Documentation of testing and preparation of rework guides, production specifications.
  • Analysis of failure modes and liaising with development to improve designs.
  • Liaise with other teams to ensure a complete system design and delivery.
