Job Description

Our client is an award-winning construction specialist in providing high-end residential design and build projects, serving Bath-Bristol and the surrounding areas. Working in both the new build and renovation sectors, along with a successful retail businessselling kitchens and windows.The roleDue to continued growth, they are now seeking to appoint a part-time Finance Controller to join them working on-site around 4 days a week. There is the potential for the role to become full time but at this stage, it will be c 4 days. You will be workingalongside the existing management team, out of their Saltford office.Once established there is the potential to work from home for c 1 day a week.Person Specification

  • Previous experience within the construction industry is an advantage
  • Previous experience in a similar finance role
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with people at all levels
  • Ability to complete work accurately with good attention to detail
  • Willingness to go the extra mile.
  • Ideally, qualified AAT, CIMA, ACA or ACCA but part-qualified will be also considered.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day finance function across the 3 linked businesses.
  • Regular bookkeeping and bank reconciliations.
  • PAYE and CIS returns.
  • some statutory returns to HMRC and Companies House.
  • Manage sales ledger, write and send invoices for all clients whilst liaising closely with the project management team.
  • Manage purchase ledger and ensure invoices are posted to the system in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Manage day-to-day cash flow, liaising with project managers to forecast pipeline income.
  • Be a main point of contact for suppliers.
  • Manage company credit cards and staff expenses.
  • Supplier payments and manage payment schedules.
  • Receive and approve payroll from accountants and pay staff salaries.
  • Ensure client files are accurate and up to date.
  • Liaise with company accountants on tax returns and management accounts. information.
  • Manage intercompany transactions, reporting to accountants and Finance Director.
  • Completion of credit application forms for new supplier accounts, inform Project Managers when accounts are operational.
  • Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company. Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation.
  • Completion of actions arising from weekly meetings with the senior management team.
  • Calculate Monthly WIP figures.
  • Document processes.
Ideally, we want someone who has construction-building industry experience. However, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a large number of transactions c 900 pm is vital. Understanding intercompany management and the ability to spot chancesto improve processes and efficiency is important.You will be working closely with Project Managers in the different divisions so good people skills and communication skills will be required. and It is a fun and sociable team who like to work hard and play hard.Salary band: £30k-38k per annum Pro rata depending on experienceLength of Contract: PermanentCompany benefits: Contributory Pension SchemeTwenty days annual leave plus Bank Holidays.
