Finance Officer£32,500 - £35,000 per annum (plus benefits)BristolAs part of the Finance and Accounting function, your work will have far-reaching impact as you drive financial performance and secure best value for the taxpayer. At Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) andthe Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA), we are excited to be expanding our Finance & Accounting team with excellent opportunities to join our organisation as a Finance Officer. As a Finance Officer, you will be involved with a wide variety of work, from the deliveryof financial processes in accordance to the pre-determined timescale and requirements to ensuring value for money.You will gain exposure and experience from working with teams and stakeholders across our business and corporate finance teams, whilst deliveringrobust financial information to senior managers. We will offer you the support and guidance to develop your skills and further your expertise with a clear pathway to excel in our organisation. We strongly recommend tailoring your CV in line with our CV guidance before applying, with specific sections to highlight Key Achievements, Relevant Experience, and Applied Skills & Knowledge.Responsibilities for DE&S/SDA Finance OfficerAs a Finance Officer your responsibilities will include: Collating, preparing and producing accurate management information and reportsPreparing financial statements and ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with reporting requirementsEnsuring financialpolicies and procedures are consistently applied in accordance with published processesPlanning, management and supervision of finance tasks to ensure timely delivery to a high and consistent standardAnalysing and challenging financial and non-financial informationto ensure accurate forecastsMaintaining financial data and reporting in accordance with DE&S policyReviewing recorded financial information to ensure data meets external audit requirementsAdvising on appropriate VAT treatment to customers based on publishedMoD/DE&S policyProviding objective scrutiny and challenge to expenditure proposalsProviding insightful analysis of financial data through the preparation of a clear commentary Due to the secure nature of positions, some posts will be reserved for sole UK nationalsonly.
