Composites TechnicianPlymouth£35k - £45kThe CompanyA company aiming to be the innovative leaders in the composite industry who are committed to providing a market leading innovative and well-engineered range of equipment and services to the global composite industry, working with major players such as McLaren,JCB and Airbus amongst others.What is the purpose of the Composites Technician roleYou will be part of a skilled team using the latest processes involved in the manufacture of moulds and all associated processes for a global customer base. Manufacturing composite mould making equipment using a wide variety of hand building processes and machinery,including skills such as pattern building, lamination, wet processes, spraying, infusion and RTM processes.What will be the responsibilities of the Composites TechnicianUsing a range of hand skills and operating machinery during the mould building processUndertake lamination, fabrication and spraying work as required during the mould build process and as per drawingsGeneral engineering and Carpentry work to support the mould building processWork with Silicone and composite fabrics and materialsCompletion of wet processes including the application of gel coats, using brushes, rollers and spray gun methodsPerform gel coat checks and repairs to mitigate demoulding issuesEnsuring the moulds are finished to a high standard and have been released correctlyEnsuring all pipe work connections and mould furniture (clamps and struts etc) are correct and routed/ positioned neatlyUndertake the finishing of components to support the mould building processWork to drawings, complete checks and ensure dimensions of completed products or workpieces conform to specificationsEnsure that patterns / moulds / components are carefully handled and that all reasonable care is taken to prevent any form of damage being caused to themWhat skills and experience will the Composites Technician haveA relevant technical qualification or the equivalent experienceGood maths and science qualifications will be beneficialGood hand skills; competent in the use of hand and workshop toolsCompetent use a range of equipment in relation to mould building or closed mould processesAware of good working practices related to composite manufacturing processesKnowledge of Health and Safety regulationsBasic IT skills, and experience in the use of software including MRP systemsWhat will the Composites Technician get in return* £35k - £45k* Contributory Pension* 6 weeks holiday increasing with tenure* Golf and Country Club Membership* Company Events* Free Parking
