Job Description

Ashberry Recruitment are currently looking for a full time Support Worker to work in Salford area.As a Support Worker, you will be providing support to clients within the service.Some of your duties and responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Working as part of a small team.
  • Let properties in line with current project letting policy.
  • Record and undertake pre-admission inspections of properties and voids.
  • Monitor and check tenant’s flats to ensure that the customer is maintaining to a satisfactory standard.
  • Ensure clients comply with their tenancy agreement.
  • Ensure the tenants pay their weekly service charge.
  • Ensure that all applicants receive appropriate help and advice to enable them to sustain a tenancy.
  • Liaise with other agencies including Support Workers, Benefits Agency, Housing Benefit, outside agencies on behalf of tenants.
  • Ensure communication systems are accurately maintained and up to date.
  • Supporting clients with welfare rights, budgeting, employment, education, and training
  • Develop links with the local community.
  • To be aware of and work within agreed organisation policies and procedures
Requirements for the role:
  • Experience of working with homeless people with a range of issues.
  • Experience of supporting asylum seekers and refugees desirable but not essential.
  • Must have a proven track record of providing information, advice and guidance to clients.
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic IT suitable for an office environment.
  • Knowledge of basic housing management tasks, I.E; rent collection, tenancy agreements and arrears management.

Due to the nature of the rolean Enhanced DBS is required, which is on the update service or dated within the last 12 months.
Please note this is a Monday to Friday oppurtunity coveirng 35 hours a week between the hours of 08:00-18:00.
