Job Description

Job Title: Security ManagerLocation: Salford QuaysSalary: £35,000 to £40,000 per annum, dependant on experienceJob Type: Full Time, PermanentWorking Hours: 40 Hours per weekThe Lowry is a visual and performing arts venue situated at the heart of Media City UK, one of the worlds most exciting cultural and media destinations.The Role:We are currently recruiting a Security Manager who will lead on the security strategy and services providing a safe, secure and welcoming environment for all visitors and employees and protecting the building and its contents. With direct responsibly forleading and management of the outsourced security contract, the role will assist the senior management team in implementing security as a core business function developing high quality event plans, security policies, procedures, management systems and training.About you:

  • The successful applicant will be a security professional with 5 years plus hands on management experience within the security industry
  • Sound judgement and decision making skills are key requirements as is the ability to remain calm under pressure and to take control of incidents
  • The role requires excellent working knowledge of security best practice and legislation affecting the security industry locally, nationally and internationally as well as general health and safety
  • A valid SIA license, First Aid at Work and IOSH managing safely qualifications are required
  • Experience of working in an event venue is desirable although not essential
