Job Description

PURCHASE LEDGER SUPERVISOR/ SALFORD/ PERMANENT/ £35,000/ HYBRID WORKING/ GREAT COMPANY BENEFITSNC Associates have a fantastic new opportunity for a Purchase Ledger Supervisor to join a global business provider based in Salford. The position has been created to support internal promotions and rapid business growth over the last 5 years.Reporting into the Finance Manager your duties will include –

  • Overseeing the daily operations of the Purchase Ledger Team, supervising a team of 6 Purchase Ledger Clerks. Ensuring timely completion of daily tasks and providing necessary guidance to ensure accurate transaction posting.
  • Managing the allocation of weekly payments to ensure timely disbursement to key suppliers and partners, while effectively communicating relevant information and actions to the business.
  • Cultivating and maintaining relationships with key suppliers, collaborating with the Head of Purchasing when needed.
  • Assisting the team in resolving supplier queries, maintaining, and reviewing the query log on a weekly basis, and escalating issues when necessary.
  • Identifying areas for process improvement and collaborating with the Finance Manager to implement necessary changes.
  • Conducting checks and providing initial approvals for weekly payment runs and same-day payments to suppliers.
  • Reviewing and approving journals raised by the team for corrections and write-offs.
  • Supporting the team in processing logistic invoices, ensuring accurate cost allocation, and exploring opportunities for process automation.
  • Performing reconciliations of larger supplier accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with audit requirements.
  • Monthly completion of creditor reconciliations.
  • Assisting the wider finance team with ad hoc tasks as needed, ensuring timely completion of monthly deadlines.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a similar position, managing staff, and will have done a purchase ledger position working with blue chip clients within a global environment.
