Job Description

An opportunityhas become available for an experiencedProject Managerto join Salford City Council to facilitate the upcoming Test Track and Trace project. This role is available immediately on an ongoing temporary contract.What is the roleSalford City Councilare now looking to appoint a Project Manager to work with partners across public health, digital services, social care and both community and voluntary sectors, to assist the Council in leading the city’s response to the current COVID-19 pandemic.The Council’s Local Outbreak Management Plan sets out how each sector will come together to prevent, contain and limit the spread of the virus and the support needed for residents and businesses.The local test and trace systems are crucial to the success of this plan. Current priorities are to ensure local contact tracing works effectively with Greater Manchester and National systems.What are the responsibilities

  • Work closely with Senior Responsible Officers to support the implementation and direction of the local outbreak management plans.
  • Lead on the definition, strategy development, resource procurement, documentation, plans and successful delivery of assigned projects.
  • Manage the development and preparation of bids for funding to support the delivery of outbreak management plans.
  • Establish and lead appropriate project squads, ensuring they are fully briefed, appropriately skilled and able to delivery required outcomes.
    • What experience do you need
  • Experience of managing and successfully implementing projects which have delivered improved services to residents.
  • Ability to devise and deliver change programmes and experience of facilitating working parties to deliver change.
  • A proactive, self-starter mind set with high levels of personal initiative and strategic thinking. Ability to see the connections between various issues and devise practical solutions.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships, ideally within public sector environments, and quickly develop credibility with stakeholders at all levels.
