Job Description

Role:- NPD Chemist (chemicals)Location:- SalfordSalary:- Circa £25,000Reporting to:- Technical ManagerRussell-Taylor have a fantastic opportunity for an individual who has great working knowledge of GC & HPLC as well as wet chem experience (Karl fisher, FTIR, AA) to join a chemical company in Manchester.   • Product Development of new formulations and generation of new plant procedures
  • Take new product development from the lab to plant scale
  • Process Optimisation- help to reduce costs through alterations
  • Support QC team when needed
  • Be involved with varied projects & be involved with small scale reactions. This will include neutralisation, oxidation, sulphonation, esterification and phosphation using a screening system tool.
  • Writing up full technical reports on development work
  • Organise & conduct plant trails and scale ups
  • Order of new consumables and raw materials
  • Carry out COSHH assessments on any new materials
  • Liaise and feedback progress to customers and sales team regarding their projects
    • Role
  • Degree in a Chemistry or related subject
  • Competent in Analytical Chemistry and have been involved in wet chem techniques (Karl Fisher, FTIR & AA)
  • Working knowledge of GC & HPLC (industry experience will be a significant advantage)
  • Self-motivated & proactive
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Excellent ability to communicate with various types of people
