Job Description

HGV TechnicianSalfordSalary c£41,500.00 - £56,500.00 per annum + Company profit-share bonus every quarter of c£1,000.00(see below for salary breakdown)HOURS OF WORK:Alternating shifts between days and afternoonsWeek 1 - 07:00 to 15:30Week 2 - 12:30 to 21:00Ideally you will have HGV-Mechanical Qualifications such as IRTEC, NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds, however time-served mechanics with at least five years’ experience working on HGVs will be consideredAbout the CompanyThe company is well established, having been in operation for over 70 years and they are specialists in commercial vehicle rental. Their Business has 6 rental depots, with fully equipped, modern maintenance workshops in the North and South of England. Fromthese depots they operate in excess of 2000 vehicles (of which 1000 are above 3.5 tons).About the roleThe position of HGV Technician will involve being responsible for carrying out inspection and service routines and repairs and testing of vehicles in a professional and safe manner. The HGV Mechanic will be reporting to the Workshop Manager and will be ableto investigate and diagnose faults, report findings and be able to carry out all repairs to the current manufacturers’ standards. It would be advantageous for you to have knowledge of cranes or hydraulics & experience working on tippers, tipper grabs or beavertails, however these skills are not essential as training will be given.Salary Breakdown

  • 40 hours @ £18.97 per hour (hours as above) = £758.80 per week x 52 weeks = £39,457.60 per annum
  • 4 hours @ £28.45 per hour (08:00 - 12:00 1 in 3 Saturdays mornings) = £1,991.85 per annum
Total Earnings= £41,449.45 per annum+ Non-compulsory overtime available to boost your income:
  • £28.45 x 5 hours per week = £142.25 x 52 weeks = £7,397.00 per annum
OR
  • £28.45 x 10 hours per week = £284.50 x 52 weeks = £14,794.00 per annum
Potential Earnings c£48,000.00 - £57,000.00 per annum
  • Additional overtime is sometimes available before 7:00 am & paid at double time = £37.94 per hour
